You’re certain you don’t have a physical directory mimicking your page slug? If your page slug is “about” and you have a /about/ directory, /about/ may override it.
There is no /about/ directory. When I go to click on the new page link, the page goes to /wordpress/?page=12 and takes me to the wordpress directory. How do I get it to point elsewhere? Thanks.
Oh. Do you have WP’s mod_rewrite (“pretty permalinks”) enabled?
No I don’t. How do I do that?
Check your options in the admin. If you’re running from your main directory, and all your WP files are in the main directory (as they appear to be, since http://barkersuccess.com/?cat=2 works just fine), under Options, General the WordPress address and Blog address should both be http://barkersuccess.com. (I’m guessing that right now one of those says http://barkersuccess.com/wordpress, which is likely what’s causing the problem.)

Now however, another problem surfaces.
When I changed them both to barkersuccess.com, I went to update and got a message “the URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server.” Is that a permissions problem.
Then when I went to http://barkersuccess.com, I had lost the header, column, etc.

Urg. I messed you up a little. You have wordpress installed in /wordpress, though I’m a bit confused as to how you had this working! (Maybe my own stupidity here though.)

If you don’t want to trust me with that (and given this foul up, I can see where that might be a question) then for starters, we have to change your URI back.

Then we’re back to where we started, and I’m confused as to what was happening there… so…
