I am currently building a website for a church. I accidentally deleted the calendar page. I made a new calendar page but the link is now /calendar-2/ instead of /calendar/. I tried just changing the permalink but it just reverts it back to /calendar-2/. Is there another way to get my permalink to just say /calendar/?

P.S. I am using the /%category%/%postname%/ custom permalink structure.

One way is by going to the database and looking for the slug for the first one and delete it.

Do you know where that slug is located at in the database?

Better first check into the All Pages > Trash. Deleted files, trashed in the ‘Trash’ caused the similar problem regarding permalinks. If the deleted page is in ‘Trash’, then delete it permanently. It’ll avail the desired permalink for you. Then, I think you can edit the permalink to /calender/ again. 🙂

    mayeenul,

The page is not in the trash. Do you happen to know where the slug would be located at in the database?

    Ok.
If I’m not wrong, you can find ’em in wp_posts.
The table head will be post_name.
Have a try and let us know.
