Okay, I am losing my mind. I was running wordpress 3.8.x and for some inexplicable reason, I lost one of the websites drop down menus on my menu list at the top of page (i.e. Home, About Us, Products, R&D Projects, News -> News began missing). News would link to my Posts. So that disappeared and for the life of me i could not figure out how to get that back.

So I thought updating to wordpress 3.9 might correct it. No luck. Plus, now in the wordpress editor, when I click Pages->about Us, to edit the about us page, it loads and then on a second layer the entire screen in the browser develops a semi transparent grey layer that prevents me from clicking anything although I can see the page editor underneath. This appears to occur for all pages.

I tried disabling all my plugins but that still did not work. Any help would be appreciated on both issues?

I wanted to search the forums since there are so many posts but did not see a search box.

try deactivating all plugins and switching themes to a default theme like twenty thirteen.

I am experiencing the same issues since updating to 3.9 as well as 4.0. The greyed out transparent screen that appears on all the pages I’m trying to edit. I have deactivated all my plugins, one by one, and still no dice. I am not really interested in switching to a default theme, my sites built around one i’ve purchased, which i’m happy with. I’ve been following the threads and can see this issue seems to be persistent, can’t say i’ve been able to figure this out. Open to suggestions…

@the orange one – since you are not using 3.9 (topic of this thread), you should open your own thread – here:
