I'm new to WordPress and set this up on my osx system.
I logged in as admin then created a new admin user (myself). Logged in as me and started creating pages. However, when I went to the website I could see the link to the pages but when I clicked on them it took me to the default OSX apache page "Your Website. Create and publish you own website... blah blah."

The url I was using to get to the home page is:
http://www.unc-hamiltons.com/~dalton/index.php (not published on the net yet)
    http://www.unc-hamiltons.com/~dalton/?page_id=8

Then when I clicked on a page the url would change to:
    http://www.unc-hamiltons.com/~dalton/?page_id=8
and this is when the default OSX /Site page shows.

I couldn't get this working so I went in to Settings and added \index.php to the blog and site urls (dumb, I know this now) and now I can't login.

Any chance I can get one of you to please explain why, when I create a page that it doesn't work (even after "Posting") -- by not working I mean the page is created but the main page shows the link but the link doesn't take me to the page.

Then just as important, how can I get the site back to where I can login? I've greped for "index.php" in ~dalton/Sites/* and ~dalton/Sites/*/* and the url isn't there -- I was hoping I would see a file where the two urls were kept and I could vi and change them -- no luck. This means they're kept in the wordpress sql db and I know nothing about that -- other than I followed some online steps to create it.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

did you find a solution to this?
I seem to be having a similar problem - that when I try to access a post I am always directed to "Your Website" page.

    thanks
