• Hello there! I’m using whatever the current version of WordPress is, and I would like to access my page.php file to remove the comment box and the meta box. If it’s possible to remove the “wordpress blog” and “theme by” stuff too, that’d be great if you could tell me how to do that.

But here’s the thing, I have no idea how to get to page.php. Some of the documentation I’ve found seems to be for an older version of WordPress possibly?

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Site url?

Hi you would find page.php either via ftp ‘/wp-content/themes/theme-name/page.php’ or you can edit it in WordPress directly, look in the menu under appearance > editor.

For help in removing specific things we would need to know what theme you are using or see some code.

Hi Jamie, thank you for your kind reply!

I am still unable to find that appearance link. I do not have an editor option under appearance.

I am wondering if this is something that the Custom Design upgrade is necessary for? I really don’t think it’s worth paying $30 to be able to delete code…but if I have to I have to.

Alternatively, what would I use to access that ftp link? I’m on a Mac. I do not have much web programming experience at all, so ftp stuff baffles me.

    Thanks!

    I am using iTheme 2

I may have found the code for iTheme2.

    Here’s what I want removed:
“Blog at WordPress.com | Theme: iTheme2 by Themify
    Search box
    Archive box
    Meta box
Calendar Icon displaying the date something was posted

I’d also like to expand the news window to take the place of those boxes. The front page will feature only one thing at a time, the rest of the site will be the content. Example, just go to apple.com I’m trying to replicate that, for a good reason 🙂

    And, here’s the long code:

[1346 lines of CSS moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please just post a link to your site.]

as your site is with wordpress.com, you are in the wrong forum.
you also might have less possibilities to edit your theme.

    please ask at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/
