By default wordpress shows a page with the most recent posts. Once you assign a user-created page as the front page you lose the page with most recent posts. Then you can only access posts by category. How can I create a page which contains my most recent posts?

By creating a new page and setting that as your Posts page in Admin/Settings/Reading.
