   My homepage url is http://www.theirvins.com. I've been using an index.html file for this page and linking to my blog which is at http://www.theirvins.com/wordpress/index.php. I went to the options and changed the settings that would allow http://www.theirvins.com to go straight to the blog. I want to get rid of the opening html page. I deleted the index.html from the server. I get nothing. Any suggestions?

   I still see your original (html) front page, but just doing a rename won't work unless you are also wanting to move all the files too.
   You need to make the changes and move the files.

   aaarrrrrgggghhh. I was afraid of that. That would mean that every reference in the plug-ins, hacks, and all templates that point to the present position would have to be edited to point to the new position.

   So, I added a timed redirect to the homepage. Check it out and see if it works for you!
