   I created a new custom post type for my website to hold events. The post contains the event title as well as some info on the event.

   Currently, I'm just pulling the event title and date in my sidebar. However, I want to be able to allow the user to click on the event and take them to the event's specific page.

   Now, each event goes to http://www.mysite.com/events/eventhere but when you click to go to that URL I get sent directly to my 404.php page.

   How do I get my custom post type events to load their information to my page.php template?

   A nice little touch is to rejig the layout of the My Portfolio page to display some of this information.
