   Hi I've searched for plugins & help on here for this but can't find anything that fits!

   What I want to do is have a page with files to download on it, I'd like the site to be "public" generally but I want the users to be members of the site before they can download. SO if they're logged in that's fine they can go to the page & download, but if they're not logged in they need to register before they get to see the page.

   Does anyone know if there's a suitable plugin or am I going to have to code it all?

   See if this will work for you. You'll need to get a plugin to manage the roles and rights once logged in, but this will allow you to manage a subscription only membership base.
