• Hi,

    I have just installed a site at http://www.roninmusicuk.com and am just trying to make it as quick and light as possible. However Google page speed seems to be ignoring my .HTACCESS files Caching rules.

    My .htaccess file contains this:

    # Expire images header
    ExpiresActive On
    ExpiresDefault A0
    ExpiresByType image/gif A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/png A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/jpg A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/jpeg A2592000
    ExpiresByType image/ico A2592000
    ExpiresByType text/css A2592000
    ExpiresByType text/javascript A2592000

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    I have also tried this:

    ## EXPIRES CACHING ##
    <IfModule mod_expires.c>
    ExpiresActive On
    ExpiresByType image/jpg "access 1 year"
    ExpiresByType image/jpeg "access 1 year"
    ExpiresByType image/gif "access 1 year"
    ExpiresByType image/png "access 1 year"
    ExpiresByType text/css "access 1 month"
    ExpiresByType application/pdf "access 1 month"
    ExpiresByType text/x-javascript "access 1 month"
    ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash "access 1 month"
    ExpiresByType image/x-icon "access 1 year"
    ExpiresDefault "access 2 days"
    </IfModule>
    ## EXPIRES CACHING ##

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    and this:

    <FilesMatch "\.(ico|jpg|jpeg|png|gif|js|css|swf)$">
    ExpiresDefault "access plus 2 hours"
    </FilesMatch>

    Anyone any ideas what is causing the caching rules of the Htaccess not to be picked up?
