   i just recently reinstalled wordpress after switching to a new domain, and im trying to reconfigure everything like i had it before, but when i create new pages and give them slugs, i cant access them with the page slugs like i used to. It just gives me the 404 error. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? thanks.

   Yeah, Using_Permalinks is a tricky business :)
   (for the sake of future searchers who will hate your "nevermind, i figured it out" annoying reply... when they will find your topic)

   While posting the answer is helpful and encouraged, I cannot imagine anything more discouraging than encountering hostility on the support forum from a moderator. :(

   That wasn't a personal opinion post, it was a volunteer support response informing evanarussell that it is helpful and encouraged to post your solutions here when you resolve an issue. There's more than 1 way to skin a WP issue in most cases (although it is often presented as only-one-way on this forum). If I post a follow-up it is a clarification or addition to the previous answer. If I've posted after you before, I didn't notice it per se, that would be pure coincidence.

   Thanks for your thoughts, however. :)

   I sincerely appreciate any helpful & informative support posts, and I know you've had many here Moshu. Thanks for that.

   But I could do without the barrage of put-downs from certain forum regulars. I noticed a few other complaints on here recently as well by new-comers. Did you?
