Page slug doubling (8 posts)

I'm wondering if there's a hack or plugin out there for my problem:
I have a bunch of pages on my site, two of which have identical slugs. So I want two (maybe more later) pages with the slug "2005," though under different parent pages.

    Observe my problem in action:
    http://sdho.o-org.com/reading/2005/
    http://sdho.o-org.com/gallery/2005/

Just manually change one of the page slugs. Make it "2005-2" for example.

I don't see how this is a problem. I have posts and pages with the same slug. If your permalinks are set up to show a category like 'reading' or 'gallery' in front of it, then it has a distinct address.

RobertMcClelland -- I know I could make it unique, but it seems really messy to do so.

slambert -- I don't know how that could work. On my site it's treating it as thought I've used multiple /2005(s). I realize that the addresses should be distinct, as they have different parent pages, but I'm assuming there's a bug in the software for which I was hoping to find a hack or plugin.
Could you post a link of your blog to make sure I'm thinking of the same thing?

You can click on my info at right.

What is the actual 'symptom' of your problem? Is an error being generated? Have you created multiple posts with the same name yet? Try it. WordPress should ammend the post title in the URI with -1.-2,-3 as each post is made if there's a conflict. But there shouldn't be.

Basically the content from /gallery/2005/ and /reading/2005/ are being mushed together into one page.

I'm using a plugin to avoid the -1, -2, etc. On posts I don't run into any problems: http://sdho.hayfordoleary.com/2005/06/29/hp/ and http://sdho.hayfordoleary.com/2005/06/10/hp/.
