i started with a page rank of 4/10, then upgraded to 2.3.3, now i am at 'unranked'....any help on how i get back to that would be appreciated. Please don't tell me that it will take another 2 years to get back to that...
any advice would be appreciated.
An upgrade alone won't make you lose pagerank. Google does not care what version you are running.

do you think that it was from any sort of plug-in perhaps?
from when a 'deactivation' was done, then with 'activate', perhaps google sees it as a new page and needs to be crawled again?
Try using the Google Sitemap generator plugin. It will send a sitemap to Google. This has always made it crawl properly on my site after just a few minutes.

I see you at pagerank of 4 - as Otto mentioned - Google doesn't care what version you are running.
The page rank was the last thing to load for me- maybe you didn't allow the page to load 100 %?
Otherwise- Google has several data centers- each of which could have a different PR rank for your site- perhaps you were connecting to a dif data center. There are "PR data center" checker tools
