• Hi…I recently installed the plugin and was able to successfully get a listing inserted. The problem is that only the summary information is readable. Once we click on the Title Heading which I assume is supposed to take you to the Full page for the listing, it always returns a “page not Found”. The slug and URL for the page are correct but it seems to not be creating the actual full page listing. The Permalinks are set to “post name.

Is this expected? If so…we are still going to use this plugin and rate it well but can you tell me how to disable the URL link leading to the full page and just leave a summary?

  • I have the same issue on http://directory.legalrecruiter.com. The description content is searchable but does not display when you click the listing name.

I have the same issue as Nestor.

I had to remove this and move to another solution….upon uninstalling it created another slew of errors. I found that the “slug” name was conflicting with another plugin I installed. I switched and now all is blazing fast and working just fine with a new solution

I have the same issue – has anyone had a response? I really like the simplicity of this one but I need to activate it quickly.

When the listing is in draft it works fine, but as soon as I approve it, I get a page not found for the full listing.

Nestor – would you share which one you got to work for you?

I am not sure if I can do this on here but lets try. I ended up using

    http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/

Business Directory Plugin dot com worked. IT is a bit of overkill, but the free version got me exactly what I needed.

    Have same problem 🙁

Hey folks – I figured out how to fix the Page Not Found error.

In the Directory Settings > General, make sure the Taxonomy and Post slugs are different.

    I set them to:
    Taxonomy slug = listings
    Post slug = listing

    Then, I reset my permalinks.

Now I can view the single page directory listings 🙂

Hmmm still can’t get it. This permalink thing is a bit confusing. Probably doesn’t help that my site is in a subdirectory of the domain. Is there a setting to be used in the permalinks settings? How do you “reset the permalinks”?

    Cheers

Now I got it. Had to uninstall another listings plugin. Must have been a permalink clash.

Resetting the permalink didn’t work for me. Still getting the same page not found error.

it works with permalinks set to default…

had the same problem when I first set it up, followed Jill Andersons advice about setting the taxonomy and slug differently to listings for taxonomy and listing for slug, didn’t work at first but then added a forward slash to the end of the slug listing/ and the page appeared. If you watch the search in your top search bar you will see the first come up as http://wwwdotyoursite.com/listings/thenameofbusiness then when you click the link to take you to the full page it reads http://wwwdotyoursite.com/listing/thenameofbusiness two similar addresses but one with the s and one without. By adding the / to the slug it completes the search term listing/whatevername. You can see this working at http://www.beeconnectedsunderland.co.uk click on the Businesses link and watch for the changes mentioned above.

Hope this helps somebody as I think this is just right as a plugin in terms of being what it says on the tin – lite. Enough to sperate listings and add from the rest of the site. If we push the developers enough maybe there’ll be some improvements and support. Great plugin.

Didin’t realise the two example links would actually come up as clickable links. Sorry guys.
