   I previously had managed to install WordPress MU on my web hosting space, and had got as far as the dashboard. I then wanted to reinstall MU with subfolders instead of subdomains, so deleted all the MU files and folders. wp-content couldnt be deleted for some reason.

   I then FTP uploaded all the MU files again, and tried the index.php installation again. Got as far as entering the database/email details again. But then when trying to login my browser keeps coming up with the message

   "The page isn't redirecting properly
   Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

   I've tried reuploading all the files and recreating the database, but nothing works and I'm tearing my hair out!

   Any help with this? thanks.

   I'm having the same problem on a fresh WPMU 2.9.2 install. I've tried installing several times, have monitored the apache error logs (nothing there), and never touched wp-config.php (that was listed as a cause in another thread). Like you, I'm using subfolders instead of subdomains.

   Did you ever figure out a solution?

   And... I figured it out. It was a cookie problem, of all things.
