Page image without tags

Now I’m making my own template, I want to use the following template code:
<?php echo _get_project_info(‘image’, $project->post_content) ?>

But with this one there comes a link tag and the image tag with it.
Is it possible to only get the image URL (e.g. http://www.domain.com/wp-uploads/image.jpg)?
