Although site navigation is fine the full url is not showing in the address bar. Whatever page I am on the address remains the same, i.e. the home page. When I hover over a menu item or link the full url is shown in the status bar. This is not a consistent problem it first appeared a month or so ago, then worked normally and has now "gone rogue" again this week.
Any suggestions as to how to cure this
Update your permalink structure via Administration > Settings > Permalinks. If that doesn't resolve the problem look at deactivating all plugins and changing to the WordPress Default theme to see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for the reply. Refreshing permalinks, changing to default and disabling plugins had no effect. Still no sign of page id in the address bar
Change to the 'default' permalink structure and see what happens.

Having reactivated all the plug ins and returned to "correct theme" for the 2nd time the page id's are now showing. Weird but it seems to be working. Must be something loose under the bonnet!!

Well I think I got to the bottom of the problem. It's a little non wp add-on that I use called SCM player. It doesn't get disabled when I disable all plug-ins and hence escaped the previous cull.
Shame as it's the only cross site music player I have come across, all the other stop when you change pages
