Page ID instead of permalinks in stats (14 posts)

Hello. I have just updated WP. Now on my stats page I only see page ID numbers instead of permalinks, while the counting seems OK. Permalinks are otherwise working fine on my site and my stats page worked fine until now too. Thanks for help in advance.

    pedkl.com is the site.

I have also activated (and now deactivated) the all-in-one-SEO-pack plugin, which attempts to change the page titles. Could this be the problem?

I have this problem at my domain too.

    I have WP 2.2.3 with wp-stats 1.1.1.

The top posts list always show the page's ID instead of its title and clicking on the link take me to some blank page not actually the target post like "example.com///" instead of "example.com/category/topic"

Yes, this is exactly the same problem. I have tried changing domain names in WP Options, reseting the stats, have even rewritten all my incoming domain names to exactly the same manner as stated in WP Options, etc. but nothing helped. The most bizarre thing though is that sometimes some page does show properly..

Yup, I'm seeing the same thing. Most posts show the ID number and have those broken links.

I think this did break with WP 2.2.3, but I haven't had time to investigate. But now I know it's not just me...

This happened to me around installing WP 2.2.3 also. But also, when I changed from setting my address in Options from example.com to http://www.example.com. Did you do anything like thos as well? The stats usually shows addresses without the www.

I have found out that if you edit/save a page, it starts to show in the stats correctly. It would be a rather strange thing to do for the whole site, but it seems this might help.

I updated my site, a lot of the question, I do not use 2.2.3 now, I will re-use version 2.21.

Well I first noticed this problem after upgrading to WordPress 2.5 (probably upgrading WP-Stats at the same time), and after finding this thread I went through and re-saved the majority of my posts as a temporary fix.

I've just upgraded to WordPress 2.6 and WordPress.com Stats 1.3.2, and it's happened all over again!

Has anyone had any luck figuring this one out? Re-saving every single post after every upgrade is extremely tedious when there are lots of them. If there's a simple query I can run on the DB I'd rather do that instead, or just have the bug fixed except it's not clear to me who I should be reporting it to. Alternatively if anyone knows of a plugin that will automatically do the equivalent of hitting the Save button for 200+ posts, perhaps it'd be a useful workaround.

I wonder if it's something to do with using a custom permalink structure.

Here's how it works: when you save a post, the permalink is sent to WordPress.com for use in your stats reports. When you change your permalink structure, a command is sent to WordPress.com to flush the permalinks because they have changed.

There should be a better system in place in a future version of Stats.

Awesome. Thanks for the explanation. I guess I'll have to wait.

thanks for that explanation andy. it makes no sense, but hopefully making that permalink change will work and get the system to use the right permalink setup.

edit: Well that didn't work. Anyone else know of a way to get the stats to use permalinks and not page IDs? I can't even tell if the IDs are linking to pages or stories. It is very annoying...
