Can the page ID be shown in the page attributes panel, and the Post ID shown somewhere in the post editing page in future releases?
I know you can see this by hovering over the post/page title but this would be really handy to have to hand when editing a page/post.

Nice one, thanks, still think this should be core functionality though...
It falls under 'not enough people need it' right now.

At the risk of continuing this thread needlessly, if this functionality was available in previous version of WP why would it get dropped? Just because not many people are asking for it doesn't mean many people want it as people are by their nature, lazy.
Simplification I recall. I can't find the ticket right now, but I have this memory that most people just didn't use them.
Mind, I wish they were there on media all the time, but it fell into the 'advanced user' camp, which is when something really should be a plugin and not in core :) Keep core small.
