Hi - Merry Christmas to all :)
Site: shadows.os42.com
I have just been adding an auto reload function to the site - currently set at 60 seconds.
The reason: I am using a rotating header and this pushes one through nicely and if new posts are put up - any visitors on the site see them come up straight away.
However, I have never used this function before and will monitor it to decide if it's worth having in place.
Just wondered if anyone else used it and knew of any advantages/disadvantages. Is 60 seonds too frequent for instance?
Any feedback would be appreciated :)
Okay..........
I was just typing a comment about rss, it refreshed.... and took what I was writing away. I'd suggest that on single pages the refresh not happen for that reason.
Otherwise, repeat loading sites only ever bug me when I'm trying to hunt code. Otherwise, it's no problem :)
Thanks Podz - that's probably enough of a reason to take it out.
You never know till you try though :)
Can it not be linked to a $is_single type of tag ?
Or ....... you could use frames ! :)
Don't worry Podz - it's gone already. Just an idea anyway :)
Sorry I messed up your comment in the process :(
S'ok - I shall drop back soon :)
Oh, arg! You can set up a refresh within an iframe:

But please, stay away from standard frames. I'm begging! :)
is there a way to have just the image reload, through ajax or something?
How do you set up the index page to auto refresh and not set up individual pages to auto refresh? Thanks for any help!
Just add the code to your index.php for your theme.
War - sorry I am ignorant on this. What code do I add? I just do not know what to add to the index.php.
Thank you very much.
