Padding or Line Break or Page Break

You’ll see my working flex slider just under the navigation & page logo. It’s a 728×90 vertical slider that is sitting right on top of my content. I’ve tried several code snippets in my main index and style sheets but nothing’s working. How can I add some space between my slider and the content below it?
