When you are trying to make a new post on the P2, and you click on the image posting icon and the interface loads up right there. Then you do the usual choose image and push the upload button. After the image is uploaded, there is no button to "insert image into post". Is this normal, or am I setting something up incorrectly?
Thanks.
Hi emoworld,
This should be working with the latest version of P2. Could you confirm?

This works indeed. But, at least for me, the image insertion from url is not working. again, no insert into post button.
Thanks.
Yes, the "From URL" is broken and a known issue, but the upload should be working correctly now.

Yes, upload is working perfectly now. Thanks for that!!
Can you tell, when you might get the chance to fix this "from url" bug?
@pasQualle No timeline, it's related to a core WordPress behavior so might not be fixed until WordPress 3.2.

I have a related, but slightly different issue. I have installed the p2 theme, and when I try to upload an image then insert into the post I'm left looking at a blank ajax / lightbox page and the image doesn't insert. I tried this on two wordpress.com blogs, safari and chrome on mac. If I switch to the default kubrick theme, the image inserts just fine. Its a shame as I would love to start using this theme for a new team project!
Apart from that, great work :)
I'm having the same error in all my p2 installations.
I'm using the latest version 1.2.3
The icons for media upload point to the wrong link.Let me elaborate on this:
If my blog is at: http://mydomain.com/blog
The media upload should point to: http://mydomain.com/blog/wp-admin/includes/media.php
But instead it goes to: http://mydomain.com/blog/blog/wp-admin/includes/media.php
Giving then a 404 error because of the duplicated "blog/" in the link.
How can I fix that?

Same problem for me as webjac... P2 repeats the first directory level, in my case adding an extra /wordpress/ and giving a 404 object not found error when user clicks on the upload/insert buttons from the front page quick post form.
Note that this does not happen while using the backend to upload an image for a post.

Ok, I wanna come back to my original concern.
I have now tried all the 3.2 RCs and with none of them the problem gets fixed. Did the bug fix made it to 3.2 or will it still be present in 3.2? Or do I just have to wait for the final?
Thanks!

So, ok, 3.2 is out, but still no button to insert an image from URL :(
It's not fixed in 3.2, unfortunately. I don't know the timeline for the media revamp, but it's "future release" at this point.

Future release? Lol, so this could be 3.2.1 or 10.2. That's really frustrating.

Hey Lance,
would you mind linking to the ticket on trac that I can check this by myself?
Thanks!
You can follow along with WordPress development updates here: http://wpdevel.wordpress.com/. The media revamp has been on "the next release" for quite a while.

Hey Lance,
what I meant: shouldn't there be a ticket on trac for this specific bug? I haven't found it yet. Perhaps you could link me to this specific ticket.
I know the devel blog.
Thx.
No ticket, I was talking about the revamp of the entire media upload process.

Whether it's just a bug or a whole upload revamp, shouldn't there be a ticket to track progress?
