P2
[resolved] p2 - a little jumpy with buddypress 1.9.2 (7 posts)

    Hi,

    Wp 3.8.1, bp 1.9.2, bbpress 2.5.3 Theme p2 1.5.3

    When using buddypress with p2 the item-list-tabs (say in profiles) become really jumpy when one hovers over them.

    see http://imgur.com/HDY7Yf6 (I was hovering over the "Friends" tab)

    Mainly on local installs I have noticed this - but now have put it online on a (very slow) test site at

    http://football.de-nws.com/

    please login

    user: boru psw: boru

    then go to

    http://football.de-nws.com/members/boru/profile/

    and hover over the items on the first line of the tabs underneath the avatar.

    The items on the second line jump about

    Would really appreciate some help on this if at all possible.

    Thank you.

    On another thread i note p2 will have a "successor" ?

    Is the demise of p2 in the works ?

    Am i wasting time doing the (not very many) tiny tweaks of p2 for buddypress?

    Made a little bit of progress !

    it appears to happen only in ones own profile.

    so with boru it happens in/boru/profile/ but not in/admin/profile and vice-versa

    but why would this just happen with p2 ??

    no other pliugins involved.

    just buddypress, bbpress & p2 theme

    Any ideas ? or even ideas about where to look ?

    Thanks

  4. I had a look at this. Here's a screenshot of what I saw when I moused over the word Friends:

    "Settings" is getting pushed to a third line, because there isn't room for it on the second line. Is that the problem you're describing?

    You could always try making the main column wider so everything fits, or modifying it on the BuddyPress side so that the submenu items aren't "indented" to the right so much.

    On another thread i note p2 will have a "successor" ? Is the demise of p2 in the works ?

    My sense is that p2 will continue to be supported, but new features are probably not going to be introduced, since the focus for development is now o2.

    Am i wasting time doing the (not very many) tiny tweaks of p2 for buddypress?

    I wouldn't say so - it may be a while before o2 is available for self-hosted sites, and I'm sure there will be folks who prefer to stay with p2.

    Many thanks for your reply.

    Tried widening everything in p2 on the online test site

    Works ........but it only defers the problem until such time as you have more tabs and then it repeats

    see (from local install) http://i.imgur.com/lBZzeTa.png

    Please - when you have the time - explain further:

    modifying it on the BuddyPress side so that the submenu items aren't "indented" to the right so much.

    Thanks.

    Think this MIGHT be a solution ?? Seems to work!

    a:hover {
    	border-bottom: none !important;
    	border-width: 1px;
    }

    This removes the border-bottom (on hover) per line 31 of style.css of p2.

  7. Glad you found a fix! Thanks for posting it.
