p tags being stripped out (12 posts)

    Hello,

For some reason, when I enter a new Testimonial the p tags are stripped out. The existing testimonials have their p tags intact. I'm pretty sure its something to do with the plugin.

    Diagnostic Steps taken:

    1. checked "stop removing ptags" option in TinyMCE advanced plugin- Fail
    2. Disabled TinyMCE Advanced - Fail
    3. I created a page and added some text and p tags and the p tags were not stripped out.

Any idea why they are being stripped out?

Look for the "John and Diane Hilton" testimonial (you will notice the text isnt bold/Dark like the others and if you examine the code its missing its p tags).

I checked the database entry for the testimonial in question and unlike the rest there is no p tags. It looks like the issue is occurring prior or during database write.

I suggest taking your debugging even farther per the FAQ on debugging.

There might be a mixture of a theme and plugin conflict.

    Hello,

Using my development site I disabled all plugins except yours and the p tags still got stripped out. I changed the theme to Twenty Twelve and again the p tags got stripped out. Same thing for Twenty Thirteen. I tried both resaving the existing testimonial and creating a new one during these tests.

    Thanks.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce the issue. This includes provided copies of the HTML and such you're working with for the new testimonials. Failure to do means I'm not able to help further as I'm not able to reproduce the issue.

    Hello,

Create a testimonial (I've put in all sorts of stuff and it strips it no matter). Here is a sample of one I put in"

<p>John and I went up this weekend with a load of stuff. OMG....the porch is stunning! You did such a great job....we LOVED it! Everything looks great!</p><p>Thanks.</p>

    Title: John and Diane Hilton

    Save Testimonial (General Category)

This is the shortcode I put in the page [testimonialswidget_widget category=general order=asc]

    That's all I did.

    I'm running WordPress 3.9.1.

    Thanks.

I'm testing barebones and I'm still not having this problem.

I create a new testimonial, change the editor to text mode, drop in your html, hit publish, and then view. It's fine.

Then I go back to edit, switch from text mode to rte, save, view, it's fine.

Back to edit, rte to text mode and then I see the p tags go away as expected because that's the rte behavior, save, view, it's fine.

Please create a dev system and admin login and email support@aihr.us to debug further.

Info sent per your request. Hopefully you are able to find what's causing it on my sites. I tested on three different ones on my server and got the same result.

Before getting along further, what's the real issue here?

Is the front end display not as expected or what?

The issue is, because the p tags are stripped out the text doesn't appear as expected.

http://gihomes.net/testimonials/ <- this is what I expect it to look like.
If you watch it you will see the John and Diane Hilton testimonial and the difference will be apparent.

I thought I had responded via the support system that I was unable to replicate. However, could you please redo the following? I'm not finding it in my support system.

Please create a dev system and admin login and email support@aihr.us to debug further.
