Oxygen theme header/festured photos resolution

Hi i’m having a bit of an issue with this. I have removed the right sidebar and widened the content and the featured images.

My issue is that it is loading the 470px versions and stretching them to fit. This leads to grainy pixelated photos in what is otherwise a perfect set up. This is the last thing that is irritating me.
