Override wp-admin-bar css

    How can I use custom css for the wp-admin-bar? I’m hoping to plug something into my child theme style css file that will tell it to override the default wp-admin-bar style settings. The changes show for a second while the page is loading but then go back to the wp default styles. Any thoughts?
    I am using WP 3.4.1, Buddypress 1.5.6, and a child theme of Custom Community Pro.
