    Hello there!

I seem to not be able to over-ride the default wrangler widgets when applying the change to a custom page template. These custom pages do pick up the default w-widget settings with no problem, and when I change the defaults, it will change there too. When I edit the widgets in any way on a custom template, the changes are ignored and it continues to display the defaults. It shows the changes in the edit-page panel, though, and says “Defaults are Disabled. This page is wrangling widgets on its own.”

All of these things work just fine on the default page template, so it’s definitely just the custom pages.

Is there anything I can add to my code to allow it to pick up the changes to the widget defaults on custom page templates?

    Thanks!
    K

Update! I was able to get around this temporarily by using:

do_shortcode() and using the ww_widget shortcode. While this isn’t 100% perfect, it gets the widgets on the page, and still makes them editable.

If you can suggest an approach to bring the full functionality to the custom templates, though, that would be even better. Thanks again!

    Hey kristib,

Has this issue been resolved for you with some of the WW upgrades?

I am no longer on the project that uses this, so I cannot accurately say. I will however pass the info along to the developer that’s on the project to see if it helps him. Thanks!
