My Calendar
Output for Mapping (6 posts)

I'm trying to output a list of events and locations for import into Excel so I can map them all. I have produced a template to output to a page but line breaks are inserted.
Is there any way I can output in a single line per event format so I can read into Excel?
I have the latest My Calendar version.

What is the nature of the template you've produced? Is it a custom shortcode?

Joe - sorry for the delay in replying, but here is the code I use:

    my_calendar_upcoming before="0" after="150" category=" " type="event" template="{link_title}, {category}, {location}, {shortdesc}, {postcode}"]

This produces the output ok but on multiple lines in the page. Some way of outputting as one line for easy reading into Excel would be handy.

Also, a similar routine or template for outputting all the calendar locations as a list with their address and post code would be handy if possible.

    Thanks

There is a shortcode for outputting all locations; it's accessible via [my_calendar_show_locations datatype="" template=""] -- it's documented on the Help page. It's not going to be in a CSV or Excel friendly format either, however. I don't have anything like that right now, although you can always export directly from your database in a CSV format.

Joe - thanks for the suggestion re locations.

As for the output of events (my original query) I guess the best way of getting the events data in the right format would be to export from the database? Or have you any better suggestion from within WordPress?
    Thanks

For now, I'd suggest going with the database export to get a CSV or Excel format.
