   I'm running a blog with WP 2.6.1. I created a post yesterday that linked several sites with Trackback URIs, and listed them in the "trackback" box as usual. However, none of them were sent, and the "edit post" page (a day later" continues to show no pings.

   I've sent trackbacks successfully in the past, and the sites in question clearly display incoming trackbacks from other sources, so I was perplexed. Diving into my CPanel and opening up phpMyAdmin, I discovered that in the "posts" table in the database, they were all still listed in the "to ping" column, rather than "pinged."

   Anyone have any idea what's going on, or what to do about it?

   Interestingly enough, the trackbacks finally showed up as "pinged" within an hour after I posted this question... but roughly *21* hours after the post was originally published. At least one of them showed up on the target site; I assume the others are probably sitting in moderation.

   However, this still calls out for an explanation of some sort. A day-long delay is hardly understandable... especially when posting about breaking news and hoping to drive traffic to one's own site, time is of the essence. Any ideas? I've seen threads where others have similar complaints, but if there are any solutions out there I've missed them.
