Outbound Links Going 404

    Hey Everyone,
    Last night I received an email from Google Webmaster Tools stating that my 404 errors had skyrocketed. I was shocked, and this morning I began to dig into the issue. I’ve found that many of my outbound links when clicked, instead of taking me to say “www.linkedsite.com” go to “www.mysite.net/www.linkedsite.com” which obviously sends me to a 404 page.

    I did some searching on this topic, and I tried resetting my permalinks back to default, then re-saving them on the current setting, but this doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue. I did recently upgrade the theme on my site, but looking at Google Webmaster Tools, it appears that they detected the problem before the change.

    I’m assuming this has something to do with my .htaccess file? Any help?
