Feature A Page Widget
[resolved] other plugin (podpress) modifying fpw excerpt (5 posts)

    Hi Mark,

    I'm using Podpress, which filters the_excerpt() to add a media player to excerpts. It's working fine, except that it's filtering the_excerpt displayed in FPW and adding the player that is applied to the last post in the category list!

    So it seems like Podpress, which I think is loading after FPW, is looking at the featured page as part of the group it should be filtering. Certainly Podpress might need an adjustment to prevent this, but is there something that could be done in FPW to isolate the featured page from being included in a post query?

    I've rectified the problem by commenting out fpw_widget.class.php:187
    $excerpt = apply_filters( 'the_excerpt', $excerpt );

    I've had trouble using remove_filter before, so I'll tackle that later.

    Hi @Gabe462.

    Thanks for the reporting the problem and highlighting a hotfix for those who may also encounter this problem.

    I've been away from my computer and unable to look into this until now, but I will see what I can do and try to get a fix out within the next few weeks,

    Hi @Gabe462,

    I've just released v1.2.4 that should resolve this problem. You should be able to safely update (thereby losing your hack) without any problems.

    Hi @Gabe462,

    Another update. Unfortunately, the fix I made for PodPress broke other people's sites. However, I have posted a fix in the forum that you can apply to your site that should resolve the issue.
