    As I understand it, Pictoralis is a full-on WordPress alteration -- It's not just a plug-in, it's an evolved program. So if you want it to work with your existing WP blog, you basically have to install an additional WP instance, but with the added Pictoralis source, and then link to it from your existing blog.
    Have I got this right?

    I tried Coppermine, it's rather confusing. I prefer a simpler interface like WordPress'. Just look at the Config screen in the Admin section and you'll be totally shocked. Yes, indeed it's very customizable but perhaps the Coppermine developers can make some sections less intimidating. And the theme are really hard to create. I spend 2 hours looking around and still haven't got an idea how I should start. :(

    Is it just me, or didn't anyone mention SimpleViewer http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ and SimpleViewerAdmin? http://www.redsplash.de/projects/simplevieweradmin/ These are kickass tools...

    Try PhotoPost Pro if you don't mind a commercial application (under $200). Excellent app, runs in standalone mode or integrates with the top discussion forum apps out there (vBulletin, phpbb, etc.)
