Organize Series
[resolved] Organize Series conflict with Advanced Excerpt plugin (5 posts)

    Hi,

After I updated to the new version of Organize Series this morning, the series meta on my home page showed twice. On single posts it still only showed once.

I think the problem is a conflict with the Advanced Excerpt plugin, because when I deactivated it the series meta went back to normal. Unfortunately I had to reactivate it again, because without it my homepage is all messed up.

Anyway, I replaced the new version with version 2.4.3 and it works normally again (and doesn't seem to have the problem with the Jetpack plugin that it had before, weird), but I thought I would let you know.

I would also like to buy some addons, but could you let me know first if they'll be compatible with version 2.4.3, or if you will fix this conflict in the next update? Specifically the Grouping, All in One SEO, Multiples and Shortcodes addons.

    Thanks,
    Priscilla

    Hi Priscilla,

Thanks for reporting your issue. Unfortunately, if you must use Advanced Excerpt, then your best bet to resolve the issue is to uncheck the "Display series meta information with posts?" and use the wp_seriesmeta_write() function within your theme where you want the meta information to show. If you need help with this the Basic Support package available on Organize Series will be a good product to get.

Regarding your other question on which addons are compatible with 2.4.3:

Organize Series Grouping - compatible (but unless you are prepared to dive into code I don't recommend purchasing this, it's more for developers right now)
All In One SEO - compatible
    Multiples - (requires 2.4.4)
    Shortcodes - compatible.

    Hope that helps!

We had the same issue. We found a work around on the Series Options settings page. We removed the CSS for the non-excerpt seriesmeta css template section. Much easier than modifying the template.

Thanks leonhedding! Removing the non-excerpt seriesmeta also removed the series meta from the single pages, and that wasn't what I wanted, but removing the code from the excerpt seriesmeta worked :) Don't know why I didn't try that! *headdesk*
