organising ‘recent posts’ by category?

is is possible to display recent posts *by category*, thus, given the last five postings being:

Stuffing a Cat
Stuff About Fish
Stuffing a Fish
More Cat Stuffing
Stuffed Cat Redux

and having two categories, Cat Stuff and Fish Stuff, displaying something like the following on the index page:

RECENT POSTS
Fish Stuff:
Stuff About Fish
Stuffing a Fish
Cat Stuff:
Stuffing a Cat
More Cat Stuffing
Stuffed Cat Redux

The freal world need os for a site which features both ISSUES and INTERVIEWS, each of whcih will be a category — so useful to be able to autogroup postings as either… hope this makes sense…
