Order influences reverting to theme in style.css (1 post)

    I am having problems with the order of things in the style.css of my child theme on my site. I have the following:

    h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6 {
    margin: 0;
    text-shadow: none;
    font-weight: 400; /* remove bold from headings */
    }

    /* Change h1 text size */
    h1 {
    font-size: 30px;
    }

    /* Change h2 text size */
    h2 {
    font-size: 25px;
    }

    /* Change h3 text size */
    h3 {
    font-size: 18px;
    }

    /* Change page and post title text size */
    .entry-title {
    margin: 0;
    text-shadow: none;
    font-weight: 400;
    font-size: 30px;
    }

    h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6 {
    font-weight: 400; /* remove bold AGAIN from headings */
    }

    The second h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6 rule (after the .entry-title) would seem superfluous, but if I don't put it there, my headings go back to being bold again. I cannot understand why, because I've already taken off the bold with the first rule.

    I also tried !important, but that didn't work either.

    Somehow the theme's default (bold) seems to overriding it somehow through the subsequent use of .entry-title. Can anyone tell me why?
