Why would you NOT want to optimize the full-size originals?

Currently there is no way to skip the originals from normal lossless optimization, but you CAN skip lossy optimization on originals, there’s a setting for that.

as can skip optimization with lossy of the original, there is a setting for that?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking, but I will try and make things as clear as possible:

Lossless optimization = no quality loss. This is not just “you cannot tell the difference”, this is pixel perfect filesize reduction. There is NO difference in the visible image data between the file you upload, and the optimized version. There is an option that lets you skip smaller images when doing lossless optimization, but that is not what you asked for if I understand correctly.

Lossy optimization = minimal quality loss. It is not pixel perfect, but most people won’t notice the difference. There IS an option in the EWWW IO settings to skip full-size originals when you are doing lossy optimization, but this only applies to PNG images anyway. All other optimizations are currently lossless. Lossy JPG optimization is coming in version 2.0.

Hope that helps clarify the situation.
