• I implemented a blog on one of the hosting sites recommended for WordPress (Bluehost) and have been having 500 Server errors all over. It’s sporatic but I can count on it occurring daily.

All appears fine then I get the 500 internal server error. Looking at the log I see “premature end of script headers” alternating between the index.php and 500.php pages. When I look at the database processes running on Apache, there are always some “hung” there that don’t go away. When I call in to Tech Support they mention about a process that doesn’t “complete” for some reason and requested I pose the question to the WordPress support site.

    That’s what I’m doing …

Originally they said moving me to a server with PHP5 installed would correct it but it has not. I’m running WP 2.0.2 using MySQL 4.1.18.

I couldn’t find anything in a bug report about this and am wondering if it rings any bells. If so, is there a way to identify what is causing the process to hang?

What I’m being told is that my index.php script is running “inefficiently” but there’s nothing to it! Has ANBODY had any problems of this type?

Similar problems here ( also BlueHost)
8 out of 50 links generate 500 errors (consistantly)
    Tech support has no idea.
