If any one-else needs this I have already had a few requests you can download the patched file at Dropbox.
To install it you’ll need to deactivate the easy heads-up bar plug-in in your WordPress account, then click the delete link under the plugin’s name.
Once it’s gone use WordPress’s plug-in installation system to upload and activate the plugin.
From there go to the Easy heads-up bar plug-in’s options page and edit your heads-up bar.
You’ll see the new option labeled “Open in New Window”. Check it, save it and your done.
