HI! Is it possible to set files to open instead of downloading? In the front end user profile.

We are only allowing the upload of jpg and pdf files, so they can be opened by any browser. And for our purposes the files only need to be viewed, not downloaded.

    Thank you!!

    Hi,

Already replied twice to this request :
    - http://wordpress.org/support/topic/forcing-video-to-play?replies=3

And i really think BuddyDrive must not become another plugin to build photo albums... there's already many good ones doing this that are available on the repository.

Sorry i'm a bit obstinated about this request.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I'm very grateful you have created this plugin.

As every website is unique, there are many ways to build a site using the plugins that are available. I was so happy to find your plugin as it provided the functionality I was looking for. But, in my situation it is more suitable for my users to have the files display rather than download. That is my unique situation. I had already tested the photo album plugins that are available and none were suitable for my requirements.

As you have been asked for this a number of times I think that shows there is a demand for this. Perhaps if you offered it as an option in the admin? Or provided instructions in the support here, so that those of us who want it can implement it ourselves, at our own risk.

Again, my apologies and thank you.

    You didn't offend me ;)

I understand your point. When i'll have more time, i'll try to see how to deal with that as an option or a filter and to avoid breaking the privacy options of the BuddyDrive files..

    Thanks for your feedback
