Opacity of page

Hello –

I’d like my pages to have an opacity of 80-90% so visitors can see bit of the background image I have placed. Background Manager indicates it can do this, but I’m having no luck. My webhost is at PHP 5.3, and have otherwise scoured this help forum for solutions.

Thank you in advance for any tips, suggestions or ideas.
