   I'm showing the navigation links in my theme on the single post page but when there is only one post on the website, there is a gap at the top where the links would be.

   Is there any way to only show the navigation links IF there is more than one post?

   You could do a quick database query to see how many published posts there are, and output (or not output) accordingly.
