• I just migrated from the 6.1.5.1 to this version (7.2.0.0) but to my surprise I found a strange looking simplistic and unworking version of the former complex and powerful Shareaholic 6.1.5.1.

Despite removing almost every option from 6.1 (which is bad in my opinion) and making it simplistic, I can’t make this plugin work.

In 6.1 I used like 24 buttons to show up at the bottom of the content in the which they all showed up on 3 rows.

In 7.2 I also tried to use 24 buttons but unfortunately only 1 ROW shows up!!!! I’ve deleted all cache, removed all plugins and even tried to see if its a theme problem and changed the themes. SAME PROBLEM!!!! Where are the other rows with my other buttons??? Why is there only one row showing up?!

So far I think this plugin is unusable for me, if there is no fix to this I guess I will have to stick with the old 6.1 plugin.

@justatest47 thank you for upgrading to v7.

v7 has carried over all the good points of v6 and let go of bad practices. New – v7 has a catch-all button – when you click on it over 50+ services show up to choose from to share to. We have deliberately limited share buttons to 1 row to make them render optimally on mobile and retina ready devices — the buttons are now completely responsive and render well and automatically on tablets, phones, ets — mobile traffic share is rapidly increasing and hence the move forward.

Well I think you should leave 2 or even 3 rows available and let the USER decide how many they want to use. That’s what anyone in its right mind would prefer. It’s a thing called “choice“……. ever heard of that? Seriously, there are more buttons that I would like to use but I’m limited by the one row thing.

I’ve also noticed that both “Email this” and “mail” buttons do the same action when clicked. What about one of them doing something different such as just enter the destination mail and click “Send” ???

@justatest47 – You make a valid point, and we definitely appreciate your feedback. Our goal was to make the experience as clean and streamlined as possible (for the site owner and their readers), but you’re right that choice is important! We’ll definitely keep this in mind as we continue to update our buttons and other tools.

Thank you for taking the time to give such thoughtful feedback – it helps!

Now that would be great! Looking forward for future update.

    Thanks
