I enabled Google Authenticator for both the Administrator and an Editor. However only the Administrator can log in and I am trying to understand why. This is not a user password problem.

The Editor always gets “ERROR: The Google Authenticator code is incorrect or has expired.” Both these accounts are using the same installation of the Google Authenticator Android app, which is configured correctly as the Administrator is able to log in. Same computer, same browser.

  • Perhaps time is drifting on one of the phones ?

No no. There is only one phone. It generates a code which always works on the Admin account and never on the Editor account. Of course both accounts are on the same site.

Hello @tom can you try and generate two different codes one for the Admin account and one for the Editor account.

    See if that works.

    Kind regards

    Hi
mbsolution is right, you need two different codes when dealing with two accounts.

Ha, ha, did not realize that. When I logged in as Administrator and went to the other user’s settings, there were only simple check boxes to activate Google Authenticator for that user. I did not notice that for individual users the settings are under Profile. LOL. Everything is perfect now. Thanks!
