• Hi.

Using WordPress 2.9.1., I’m trying to export my posts to update my blog to the latest version. I tried it with the native ‘Export’ Tool of WP and an just-installed ‘Advanced Export’ tool (http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-export-for-wp-wpmu/).

I created two XML files (the same contents, in WordPress eXtended RSS format). However, both files store only 80 posts, but there are 643 (627 published and 16 drafts) of them on my current blog.

What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much.

PS: Is there any tool (in the last version) to import a mysqldump file from mySQL? It could be a solution.

    – The database structure often changes between versions. The implication is that, for example, one cannot import a pre 3x database into a 3x install and expect it to work. You need to install your original version of WordPress, import your db dump and then start upgrading.

    – Consider incremental update:
