Hi,
I already have a website which I built using WordPress, and I'm very happy with how that is going.
However, now I'm thinking of building an online store (for a completely project) and I was wondering whether it really is better to switch over to Joomla for that sort of thing? I just don't want to have to learn a whole new system. As I don't have much experience, I would be using a template again this time.
So, I suppose my question is this: Is it possible to build a sophisticated store using WordPress + an existing (premium or free) theme.
Thanks.
sure
great plugin for it - integrates with all themes

Thanks @samboll. I want it to end up looking something like this. It's fast, good-looking etc. Is that possible with WordPress + the plugin?
yes - though all that won't be done automatically - some you will have to create and link to

Would you be able to suggest a theme that's as close to the site I linked to as possible? I appreciate the help.
that is a custom theme - most similar to it cost money

search on google, though - no telling what might pop up

Thanks! I'll look into it.
Another great plugin for it is PHPurchase which also integrates easily with all themes. It's extremely simple to set up and use and has great support and documentation.
Here are two example sites we built using it:
