    Hi everybody,

I know this is not an easy one but I really need your help. I have my geeky side, but this may be more than I can handle at first.

I write for a Web site called the SL Enquirer and they wonder what would be the best way to publish their site. At the moment, they use the Moonfruit (www.moonfruit.com) solution, which is quite average at best. It doesn't even offer RSS feeds...

I am no Web expert but as far as I know, WordPress is a great way to publish easily, as long as your initial setup is done.

So, if I ask you to visit the site located at:

    http://www.slenquirer.com/

Can you tell me if you think it would be hard to migrate from their current publishing platform to WordPress?

migrating is the second step. You haven't indicated whether or not they meet the requirements for running WP in the first place.

Do they have MySQL available? PHP? Or are they currently using some sort of ASP based solution?

I've checked that moonfruit site, and cant gleam crap from it, really.

I can tell you that Ive not seen a single tool here for migrating from that ---> WordPress. That doesnt mean it cannot be done, just that it might take some extra work.

WordPress support is a detail since switching hosts makes it possible... amd I know many of them.

The big deal is about how hard it is to get custom design done for someone who is anything but a geek and how hard it is to migrate content from a strange host like Moonfruit to WordPress.

the custom design bit -- there are plenty of ppl that work for money :)

the migration: again, it depends. How is the content currently stored? files based? MySQL? MSSQL? Anything can be "plugged into MySQL" by hand as long as it can be outputted.

I looked at the Moonfruit features and they never say what database they use...
