After looking at several dozen posts, sifting through the plugins, I haven’t found an answer to this question. Surely it’s doable, probably it’s a simple solution 🙂 I can’t, for the life of me, figure it out…

I’d like to have one feed to syndicate selected categories from my WP install. I don’t want to select all categories, but only some of them.

Further, if a post is listed both in a parent and a child category, it shouldn’t be pulled into the feed twice.

    Is this complete dream?

    *bump*

Anyone? Am I just missing something?

I really could use some assistance on this one.

    Thanks

To build a custom feed for selected categories try something like:

    your.site.com/index.php?feed=rss2&cat=3,8,14

where the numbers = each id of the category you want to include (or use negative numbers to exclude).

I don’t know what will happen if a post is in more than one category however.

bmck, thanks. I’ll try that. not duplicating posts in the feed would be ideal, but not mission critical.

    Cheers.

Ackk, forgot to come back to report results!

it worked 🙂 Thanks. Duplicating posts, but no biggie.

    Cheers
