Hi all,
I have just uninstalled and deleted the WP-Security-Scan plugin but now there has been some kind of fatal error and I can't access my WordPress site nor even the admin area - this is the error message:
Fatal error: Class 'Translations' not found in /home/rhinoriv/public_html/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 408
Could anybody offer me any help here? I am in shock!
Thanks,
Rory.
did you deactivate the plugin first????

Hi,
Yes I'm fairly sure that I did. I uploaded an old version and then I realised and wanted to upload the newer version so I must have deactivated it and then deleted it and uploaded the new one...why - is it likely that this would have happened through a still active plugin being deleted?
I am going to follow these instructions and see if I get anywhere - http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F
Fatal error: Class 'Translations' not found in /home/rhinoriv/public_html/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 408
thats not a plugin issue. thats a result of the wp-includes/pomo and the files within not being on the site.

thanks for your help whooami - how can that be resolved?
you upload the files. if theyre missing is causing an error then they would need to be 'not missing' to get rid of the error, right?

hmm...yes sounds logical but unfortunately that there was no such php file in the wp-includes folder (first thing I looked for before posting here).
The advice I followed on the link in my first post didn't make any difference so I have deleted the WordPress installation and am starting again. Ho-hum, life isn't always easy I suppose!
Thanks again for your help,
Rory. :)

No such .php file? perhaps I wasnt clear
wp-includes/pomo/ is a directory. there are files inside THAT directory.

oh I see - well, no problem - I have re-installed so it's alright now. It seems that the WP Security Scan plugin has caused trouble on other WP 2.8 installations so I am not re-installing that plugin for the time being.
Thanks again for your help. It was terrible because I had just finished uploading everything to the site and the WP security scan plugin was the very last thing I was going to install and run and then it all went 'kaboom'! Still, it's up and running again now so all is well in the world.
