So I thought I’d do some playing around by adding a new blog to a subsomain I had created. I chose the subdom folder to upload and used godaddy to create new database and upload. I never thought it would completely overwrite 2 years of content on the main URL. I never thought to back up because I was sure I was uploading to subsom directory.

If there is a chance in he’ll to undo back to yesterday’s default, please can you advise a desperate fool

  • I’d talk with Godaddy immediately to see if they have a backup of your site that can be restored. Often big ISPs will keep around a backup for a little while just in case.

If Godaddy does not have a backup. And you don’t have a backup. Then that’s it, It’s gone.

Then start making backups regularly (not just before changing stuff)
