Old WordPress PW Recovery Issue (2 posts)

Hi! My apologies, I've searched some in the forum for an answer and could not find one that seemed applicable.

Our company has an old wordpress site that we failed at horribly- our CEO keeps getting emails about comments on the few entries and we'd like to have those emails stop & remove the site entirely. The PW we have on record is incorrect.

When I go to recover the PW an email is sent to him saying:

Someone has asked to reset the password for the following site and username.

    http://www.aubreyhaines.com

    Username: ahaines

To reset your password visit the following address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.

With a link- when I follow it, I keep going back to the same sign in screen that says the PW will be emailed. Its not emailed- we've checked the spam folder. Maybe its too old to work? Either way we'd like to remove the site and I can't do it without the pw. :/

Whats my best plan of attack?

Sorry for being so wordy- thanks in advance for any help.

There are a number of ways to reset the password:

But you can also delete the site using FTP - you'd need to get that information from your hosting company.
